Is there a way to tell a difference? I just ordered two NOS front wheel well trim pieces but one looks a little different than the other. One was not sealed in the GM package and does not have all the holes for the fastners. Is there any tell tale signs. I'm not ready to install them yet and I don't want to find out down the road I got hosed.

i have sets of nos wheel well mouldings for 68. one has never been punched for the screw holes!!!!

and it is NOS!!!!

From what I understand, the "newer" GM NOS moldings have holes on the ends, but not in the center. These must be drilled. Could very well be one newer NOS, and one older, which would explain the difference. As for how to tell the difference, check the gauge of both moldings. If they are the same, they are NOS. The repros are noticeably thinner- much easier to bend.

Did you get the screws with both moldings? If not, you might have repo. One way to tell for sure is to fit them.

yes maybe that was it...missing only a couple of holes and not all of them.....

Exactly.

I was talking with one of my suppliers this last weekend, asking if anyone is making wheel opening trim that fits.

We joked about them needing a "drilling required" disclaimer, and how "welding/fabrication skills" should also be recommended :D

I am having a similar problem trying to find a right front NOS for my 69. I have Dynacorn fenders and the repro trim they supply sucks. Their brand is Convex. I spoke to Rick's and they said Goodmark fits alot better then Convex. I ordered the set and I will let you know how it fits.
