I didn't buy this car, but I know the guy that did. I will likely be doing some work on it with him. I know this is a Camaro forum, but with the knowledgfe base here, someone must know if this is a good, bad, average or otherwise deal.

I think it seems like a decent price for a ragtop vette project car. Should be nice if correctly restored.

looks good, but cars in primer always scare me a little. (hard to tell what's under it) i hope he saw it in person. looks like a good buy though.

With the asking prices of driver quality NOM mid years being over 40K the buy in is fine. You just have to keep the budget from sky rocketing during the rebuild. If you're going to make it right my guess your in for at least another 30K plus. If you're just going to make it nice I think you'll be fine. Keep us posted.

I dont think he stole it, he payed fair market value for it. Looks to be fairly complete. If he is going to put bumpers back on it, they will set him back a grand or more. Have him get hooked up on www.corvetteforum.com. It will be a tremendous help.

Front fiberglas is shot, lots of work needed.

The bondo over the pass light will have to come out and the whole front header will have to be re-fiberglassed top and bottom, unless they make an aftermarket piece to repair.

Windshield frame will have to be sandblasted, repaired and redone, no biggy.

Not original carb, I don't think. No RFI shields for ignition wires? There's another few bills for those.

As said, not a bad buy, really. Lots of patina there for a daily driver on those sunny days. Good luck! Still, a good buy.
