t 56 size and weight

I am trying to get a reasonable price on shipping a T56 across the country
The seller seem to think its more than 150 pounds

Does anybody know the weight and approximate dimensions of an LS1 T56?

I have a T-56 in mine. They weigh about 125 dry. Give or take a few lbs. Defiantly not 150+ unless he's shipping it with a flywheel, clutch etc.

If you open a fedex commercial account, you could ship it ground for around $325.00

I just paid $200 from So cal to Nor cal but across the states wasn't that much more.

If you don't have the resources to open the account, got to http://uship.com

It's like ebay, companies and guys with small trailers bid to haul your package. Opening an account is free. It's pretty cool.

well he is shipping it with the bellhousing and shifter
and from the sounds of it he might also have fluid in it too

115 lbs without bell housing.
My Mcleod weighs arounf 30lbs
With fluid and shifter could be 160 lbs. (not including pallet or crate)

Depending on version... 115 to 129lbs.

And... depending on year... 31.26" to 31.89"

Why would he ship it with fluid in it? It won't be in there long once it starts bouncing around in the back of a truck.

I have no idea why, but he insists it weighs 160 pounds
I asked if the fluid was drained and if he would take the bellhousing and shifter off, he said they were a part of the trans
So, whatever.

Does anybody in New York want to pick up a trans, drain the fluid, remove the bellhousing and shifter to ship it all to Cali?

my 99 LS1 T56, dry, no bellhousing, no shifter, sitting on a 2x12 that ran the length of the box, weighed 143lbs according to DHL.
