I will be changing a 327 Small Block in a 69 to a 502 Big Block soon. I have ordered the BB Frame Mounts. How do you know the correct placement of the BB Frame Mounts when the SB is removed.
Also are they welded in or bolted on ?
I am trying to be prepared for everything before the transfer :D

Thanks in advance

I think the part numbers are:
3980941 (Left)
3980942 (Right)

In any case, the odd number parts go on the left even go on the right...generally...I think...

It's just 3 bolts for each frame stand...same holes as the one for the small block frame stand.

Peter -

Assuming you got the reproduction mounts, they won't have the part numbers that Scott posted, but it's still pretty simple.

First, they bolt on. Assuming no one has welded your existing small block frame stands on, it's a matter of unbolting them and bolting on the BB stands.

The nuts on the backside of the mount bolts can be a bit of a bear to find if you've not had to look for them. They are underneath and "inside" the hollow (boxed) area between the stamped steel cradle under the engine and the reinforcing plate underneath.

I looked for a good picture of how to find the nuts, but I don't have any and this was the best I could find here.

If you need more photos or can't find the nuts, let me know and I'll break out the camera.

When you go to mount the BB stands, the taller of the two goes on the driver side. This is what gives the whole motor the offset to passenger side.

I win...
