What is the early/late cut-off date? February?

It will be an #890 for my 02D also then.

So all Camaros after February should have the 890 relay?
That is not an absolute statement. My 69 Z built 3B has a 862 relay and a short spoiler. At this point meaning 3B build date it should have had neither, but it did. Now if I was restoring a car built in March or later I would use a 890 relay. I only point it out because it could and did happen at least once.

Man, this subject sure got fired-up when I posted a picture of my ORIGINAL horn relay. Yep, the only time It's ever been touched is when I added a wire to it. Still works perfectly too. So what's the 'number' of this guy? It has no numbers that I've found using a mirror. It's never been off, so I don't want to start now. Oh, mine's a May car from Norwood.

Fred - here we go again. ;)
Your relay is a Eichlin relay -- from NAPA.
Your car was damaged before retail delivery -
i believe that part was changed without you knowing.

The 890 relays were always black plastic.
The 862's were made in both black and white plastic configurations.

Those 2 numbers function exactly the same.

Ya know Jeff, if I didn't order my car and pick it up the day after it came off of the truck, I would probably just shrug and say 'oh, OK'.

Ok guys, I plead stupid----- I've got several 69 horn relays and i am looking at two of them right now . One has white plastic and the other has black.---But, I can't find any stinking numbers.:D Help a guy out, where should they be  They are both delco remy.

Jeff, I looked agian and at your auction. In the pic of the top ,I see Delco Remy with made in USA and a letter in each corner . This is the same on mine. where shold the # be located ? I did'nt see it in any of your pics. THanks for your help! Sorry I went and looked agian and saw the # on the tab:clonk:

Well Jeff,,,,,, Hmmm. Let's see now. You're selling horn relays on ebay and claiming them to be nos. Hmmm. But mine can't be original because it doesn't match what you're selling. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Fred, I know youve had the car since new, but that isn't an original relay. I've seen many originals, and have purchased a few repos/replacements. It has all the appearance of the over-the-counter replacement relay. When/why it was swapped, I surely dont know.

I know the "never say never" argument, but there hasnt been another "original" car with that style relay as far as I know.
