i recently rolled my s-10 pickup and have been looking for some time on some information on how to swap the motor out of it and into a camaro it is a '94 with a 4.3L vortec CPI. im looking to swap into a mid to early 90's car and need some help in finding the right car (and required parts) that will make it work.
thanks

I am not an expert on this, but the 4.3 never came in a camaro from the factory. Do you plan on using the S-10's transmission too ? The reason I ask is because the Camaro V-6's transmissions are different than the V-8's. If you get a V-8 car the 4.3 should drop right in. You will also need the 4.3's computer etc. The 4.3 should have the correct engine mounts etc. It will still be a big project, but it is do-a ble.

i do not plan on using my pickup's transmission since it is a 4x4...would the motor mounts on the car have to be moved since this is a shorter engine? (i dont have a car yet just doing research)

Imho, GM really missed the boat when they did not install the 4.3, V-6 in our Camaro cars!!

Anyway, I figure that any Camaro that has a straight 6- banger in it, (if it was ever even offered??), or a V-8 and you will be fine!!

That said, I don't know anything about electrical engine management systems so sorry!!

I say all this b/c a 4.3 is just a 350 w/ the 5th and 6th cylinders removed if I remember right??

I think GM left the mounts where they were. Not 100% sure on that. You will have to find a transmission then too. A V-6 camaro's engine mounts won't work either. I know you have the 4.3, but once you get a V-8 Camaro, I would install a V-8 back in it.
