67 Camaro, blows turn signal fuse everytime I turn ignition on. (Painless Wiring), Mallory Hyfire. Engine (406) Starts and runs good, headlights OK,
hazard lights OK, backup lights OK. I also have LED brake lights from American Autowire.
Everything new car not street driven yet. Pls. help, don't know too much about electrical stuff. Thanks.

Sounds like a dead short somewhere in the turn signal circuit, or something feeding power back the line. You're going to have to just get a bunch of fuses and start unplugging connectors on that circuit until the fuse doesn't blow. Once you isolate where in the circuit it is, you can start trying to pinpoint it.

How about instead of feeding it fuses, you disconnect the negative battery cable and insert a test lamp inline to complete the ground circuit. The test lamp will regulate the current to a few milliamps and allow you to pull fuses and disconnect things until the lamp goes out.

That works if the battery is going dead but I don't see how it will work when his car is blowing T/S fuses as soon as he turns on the key. I'm not sitting in front of a wiring diagram but I think there can't be much on that circuit...T/S, Brake and B/U? The run from the fuse box to the T/S sw ahould be an easy trace to see if something is pinched under metal somewhere. There is a way to trace out shorts using a compass but I've never done it, they also make a "kit" to do the same.

I tried doing the bulb removal trick but it still burning fuses. The instruction for the LED tail light said to get constant power for it to work, usually from the dome light circuit. I tested the Painless hot & ground dome light wires that I used for the LED tailights and they were both HOT! I think I kinda remember using the stock dome wires when I wired the interior. I might have to open up the interior panels to trace and find out where I tapped the dome light circuit. Would this be the cause of fuses popping when I turn on the ignition? By the way the dome lights works OK. Thanks.
