No, not because of winter. Hell, in Atlanta I could probably drive my car through December (on good days). I had arthroscopic surgery on my left shoulder 90 days ago. While rehabbing it (still am) I was still able to convert my car to PS and change front & rear suspension. I'm not good at being idle...even when I'm supposed to be. Well, tomorrow I'm having arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder :). I put this off for many, many years and just got used to the pain (wasted AC - collapsed clavicle/scapula "connection", bone spurs, severe arthritis, and torn cartilage).

Anyway, I bought my 69' in March of this year. In this time period I've; installed a new tank, sender, fuel line, distributor, new rotors, anti-sway bar, drop rear leafs, drop front springs, adjustable tubular UCAs, upper/lower ball joints, new carb, new wheels, tires, shocks, 3rd gen. PS conversion, new console gauges, repro tach, steering wheel, stereo system, TKO-600, bell, clutch, driveshaft, crossmember, and probably a few other things I've forgotten at the moment. And I wouldn't have been able to do 1/10th of this without the help of this fine community of folks, and I thank you all very much!

So after tomorrow, I won't even be able to drive an automatic for at least a week, and it'll probably be a minimum of 8wks before I can drive a stick. So, I took my last ride for 07' yesterday. The car has probably never run any better than it does now. My oldest son will be home from college this Sat., and will drive me to my first car show (little local Auto Zone deal). I was invited by the fine folks that I regularly open my wallet to, and they love my car.....and my money, for sure :D I figure I can hang at the show for maybe 2hrs with plenty of pain meds & without ice. But I wouldn't miss it for anything.
Anyway, it's been a great year. Thanks again! :beers:

Man you kick butt for having a torn up torso :D

Heal fast Kevin. Me thinks that your car will be under the knife for upgrades in about oh lets see 8 weeks. Good luck

If you get as much done during rehab on the right shoulder as the left you will probably have it toally done. Good luck.

Bummer...I had the same problem this time last year with knee reconstruction...don't worry, you'll find lots of help to get done the stuff you wanted...
I know the urge to rush the recovery...don't overdo it too soon.
Best wishes,
Scott

Best of luck Kevin, hope the surgery goes well. Where are you having it done? My wife is an OR Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital.

By the way, could you give me the location, time, etc. of the show. I am about 40 minutes North of Atlanta, but if I can make it, I'd love to show my support, maybe even give you a hand if you need it.

I tried to sleep in as long as possible since I can't eat, drink or smoke as of midnight last night...and my surgery isn't until 12:30:(. I'm having it done locally at a facility that specializes in shoulders & knees. My oldest sister is a nurse of 25+yrs, and she was quite impressed with my provisions/considerations from last time w/left shoulder. In fact, she's taking me today...and I'm having my 17yr old son pick me up after he gets out of school. I should be out of there by 4:30 max. I hate being a burden to anyone. I even told him to just help me in the door at home, fill my "ice machine" (cool device they give you), and then he can jet to wrestling practice. My daughter should be home soon after. The percocet will do the rest.

Mike, it's a car & motorcycle show in the parking lot of Auto Zone, on Lower Fayetteville Rd., in Newnan. It's from 11-3pm. They're a pretty disorganized bunch, and there's no telling how many folks will show. Lol, I can picture 10 cars & 5 bikes there. Who knows? I'm going anyway! I'll have one son & two buddies to prop me up :).

Thanks for the well wishes, guys. And yes, I'll be more cautious when rehabbing this arm. I've been lifting weights for the past several years, and this alone attributed to a very rapid recovery. I was lifting light weights (very light :)) for my rehab exercises within 7 days, and had progressed nicely within 30. My doc just kept shaking his head, but he enjoys seeing someone who is passionate about healing and not being idle. He grimaced several times as I told him what exercises I was already doing, but he was grinning even more. He thinks I'm a wildman :D

As soon as I can get up and type with a single finger I'll be here :beers:

Been there. I had my right shoulder surgically repaired (muscle cut and overlapped, then stitched back together) about 15 years ago, and rehab was no fun. Nothing like finger "climbing" on the wall board, and stretching/working out with those colored surgical tubing pieces...

But you'll be able to support it in front of the keyboard nicely, so we expect to see you here. If you get cranking on the percs, it should make for some good conversation :):);)

Good luck!

yes, percs make for interesting comments :D.

hey guys, I'm back already! the skaline block didn't numb my face, neck and fingers like last time...so i'm happy already :) Already typing 2hrs later...left handed...one finger. He only made 3 incisions this time not 5. good start. i feel good right now....100 percent better than last go.

Kevin, that's quite a ways for me, but I'll see what I can do. Is it on Saturday or Sunday???

Mike
Sat. it'd be great to meet another tc member. if you can make it...cool.
