Looked at many after market suppliers for replacement nuts and bolts have not found any that are concours quality exact as originals all though they are nice replacements. As for plating kits was looking at caswell and eastwood kits, Any opinions on these kits and how well they work on small parts and nuts and bolts and are there any other kits that may be avalable.

I used the eastwood kit and a caswell kit. Both did what they are designed to do. The Eastwood kit looks grey when completed and you buff it. I bought a Casewell chrome kit on ebay, the little one with the wand to do some sheetmetal screws. The look like low sheen chrome. Real close to original finish. After I plated them, I chucked them up in my cordless drill, put some polish on a rag, and spun them on the rag with the drill, real quick and easy. I liked both kits. This particular car in another mark, and won the best restored trophy at a mational meet. No one noticed the finish on the bolts, and screws, but did notice the head markings, so must look pretty darn good.

I have tried the blackening kit from Eastwood, and was not happy with the results. The bolts would get dark, but more of a very dark grey, and it was a very thin coating. Whatever they do at the factory is great, but you just can't reproduce the black with this kit. I didn't care much about originality anyway, so I changed everything to stainless with some black stainless.

Note that I have purchased a LOT of Eastwood products and am extremely happy with the quality of their products and company in general.
