I don't think the gold looks bad but would prefer black/gold/or even white interior... I have never seen a yellow interior on one of these cars before.. Has to be a rare option...

James..
I have a 67 RS/SS that was originally sierra fawn with deluxe yellow....I doubt that it will ever see those colors again, LOL!

Here's the only link I can find of a factory Yellow interior.
http://www.chqreproductions.com/firstgen/Cars.html scroll down to the 67 Standard coupe...:hurray:
Note the carpet color on door panels and the inlay of Gold on the seats. The ebay cars are Black, which is consistent with the Parchment color.

That looks yellow to me, I have Parchment in mine. Parchment is very close to white. Look at your McDonalds soda cup, the white on it, thats Parchment.
Or, look at the floor paper foot anti dirt thingy they have in it, Parchment is close to that color white.
I like the yellow, is close enough. Probably a rare color combo like mine supposedly.
The sail panels are yellow, on Parchment they are black. Rear package shelf too. (black)
I still like it, I'd do it!

I would still have to see it in person to be sure. But as i said earlier and others have said... it looks like a real fair deal. That car is going to sell quickly priced in the upper teens. Heck its already at 14k with almost 4 days to go. If i were you and that car was only 3 hours away..id be headed there today or tomorrow at the latest. But it still comes down to your preference and if you really like it.

I talked to Larry again and the color is Yellow... He confirmed that.. They did die the carpet black instead of the original brown it was... Bottom of door panels look died black also...

I confirmed I could view the car tomorrow and put a deposit down until I could get all of the money Monday...

Larry said the car is show ready and could be driven anywhere..

I may go tomorrow and view the car but I wish I had more time to think..

I just need to make sure I can live with those colors...

Thanks again..

James..

James...when in doubt, do nothing. If you aren't comfortable with the car don't buy it, it's not the last camaro on the planet.
I would have to say i agree with that. If your having doubts on the colors then you probably shouldnt do it. The last thing you want is to be taking it to shows this summer and seeing other Camaros and saying to yourself "I wish mine was that color..or i wish mine was that color. That is definitely going to lend itself to buyers remorse.
As im sure you know you can look and look for the "right car". But when it comes along you usually have to make a pretty quick decision. At least thats been my experience and its always a bit nervewracking. Good luck either way..i think the ball is in your court now. ;)

When I decided to buy a 67 coupe I knew that I wanted a factory red, factory deluxe interior, non SS/Z28 factory V8 car. It took me a while but eventually I found it and not more than five miles from my house, and an RS to boot!

James,

I'm not sure what you decided on this, but if you chose not to pursue this Camaro, don't worry about it. If nothing else, this car could be looked at proof that you can get a nice Camaro for under $20k.

Hello all.....

I did not get a chance to make it up to view the car on Saturday... My wife already had a shopping trip planned and I had my 2 baby girls for the day.. And my yougest one does not travel well.... She gets car sick easy and it is hard to really look a car over with a 2 and 4 year old...

I am still going back and forth on this car.. I want to get the car but then I also want to make sure that this is the car for me... I have talked to all my friends that know me well and the decision is split with them also... Some say go for it and some say think some more...

thank you so much for all the advice.. I love the originality of the car but i like a hot rod also so it is tough to know what to do... If the car is as nice as "Larry"(that one was for you RobSS) :) says it is then I think I will have a great car to last me for a long time.. My plan would be to retain her as close to original as possible.. I do enjoy a good powerful motor but I guess it would be a fair trade off for this particular car.. and i do really like the look of a plane jane car...

thanks again and I am still thinking... But time is running out fast.. I may miss my opportunity on this one...
James..

LOL James , you know Im just messin with ya. Well good luck with your decision. I remember saying to myself "I will never find another one at this price" , well I was wrong .. I found another one and way cheaper and in better shape. Things happen for a reason.

If looking for a hot rod then go for it, if looking for a stock car... go for it. The car has alot of potential, and 17.5k is a buyers price imo! Buff that paint out and it is on the money!

Hot rod style Options:
Black bumble bee or z/28 stripes
Replace interior parts or interior die them black! The yello/parchment has to go!
New wheels of your choice

Stock Ooptions:
Leave it and roll on down the road

Gold/black is a hotrodable color, there is a nice gold/black rs(clone) in town by me that was a sleeper, can you say column shift 6cyl?

Not to be rude but you would have to be totally insane to dye that extremely rare yellow interior !!! To the right person, it could be worth 20% of the purchase price. It hasn't been available for many years.
There's enough 1st gens with Black now....

buy it

the colors will grow on you

finding a nice unmolested original is a hard thing

that red 68 is what most of them look like after some kid got a hold of it with the drag racing shifter, cheap aftermarket steering wheel, resale red (sloppy) paint and questionable body ... chrome junk under the hood, etc

It's is Gold. The car is definitely worth 17,500.
I don't know why you don't post the cowl and vin.
you would get more help.
But the car is a Plane Jane, Keep for 3 years and you will have no trouble making money. My opinion.
