Last night - after sitting in the garage since last september - we got out my '69. After diving for 3 or 4 miles I noticed that the peddle was like a rock and that the car was driving like I was riding the brakes. I would let off the gas and the car would stop like I was apply brakes, but it was doing it on its own. Pulled over and let everything cool off for about 10 minutes, the last mile home after resting it was a little better, but not right.
Last year I put on a new booster MC and 4 wheel discs. Last fall brakes were fine.

Not for sure where to go from here.

Thanks in advance.

I would jack the car up and put on jack stands. Then try to turn each wheel and see how hard they are to turn. That way you can see if the brakes are sticking. If all 4 are hard I would suspect the problem is in the master cylinder / booster area.

Make sure your master cyl piston is fully returning, or the brakes can stay on.

First check the booster rod to the brake pedal. Verify that the rod is fully extended and that the brake light switch or any rubber bumper is not preventing full booster return. If all is correct, then look at the master cyl to booster fit. My web page shows the long and short depth master cyl issues, there are two lengths of pushrods sticking out of the booster. I have had to slightly shorten the booster pushrod to make sure the master cyl piston was fully returned. there should be a few thousandths of clearance from pushrod to master cyl piston. An easy way to check is to loosen the master cyl and gently press it up against the booster. If extra resistance is felt, the pushrod is too long.
