Help me read these plugs. I've been thinking my idle mixture is rich but I can't tell if I'm running lean or not. Sorry for the lack of quality, this is the best my digi cam will do.

Part of that is flash but the tip is white on all of them.Even though the pic is washed out from the flash, the insulator still looks tan which is pretty much what you want. If it is rich, it will be black and sooty or even worse, wet with gas.

I bought a stock replacement Taylor HEI distributor. The only thing special about it is that it has a 50K volt coil and a better module that wont cut out like stock HEI modules do. Plug wires are 8mm Jegs brand wires. I pulled all the plugs, cleaned them and gapped them to .040.Looks normal to me....Definitely not on the rich side!.....You must be running a high output ignition system to keep the tips looking that clean!.....What are you running?
150-200Plugs look pretty good. How many miles on them?

line/heat change?Plugs look good.... need a better look at the ground strap (where is the line/heat change ?)
line/heat change?
Gotcha! Well I'm running Autolite AR3934's so there isn't much ground strap compared to standard plugs. I can't remember what they looked like before I cleaned them but I know it wasn't at the base of the ground strap.Doug is talking about the heat range reading of the plug Rusty.
This is determined by looking at the ground strap on the plug , there will be discoloration on the strap , if the color change is close to the end , the plug range is to cold , too close to the threads , plug range is too hot.
