Guys, I just picked up a 1970 Super Bee. I'm officially Mopar crazy! I sold my 67' Camaro a few months ago and was looking for a 68-69 charger, although I couldn't resist when I went to look at this Bee.

Heres a little bit of info on it. It's a 1970 real Dodge Super Bee, originally a 383 4-speed car. The 383 motor was supposedly stolen out of the owner's front yard. It now has a 440 6-pack setup with 906 heads and a 10qt oilpan. The previous owner said it has 100 miles on it and puts out 650hp?? I'm not sure if that horsepower claim is legit???. I only drove it one block and had it trailered to my house. The A833 tranny has also been rebuilt as well as a new clutch. It has Cragar Soft 8 17inch wheels with some ridiculously wide rear tires and air shocks, which I want to replace with some Magnum 500's.

The car has a full interior from a Dodge Charger, So the interior is also not original. It's had the trunk pan and floors replaced. The frame is mint. The car is originally from Oaklahoma so it's body is great compared to the 68 RR that I restored.

The paint is driver quality and thats just how I want it because I will drive it alot. The exhaust is 3inch with glasspacks dumped in front of the rear axle. It's ridiculously loud I'm going to pick up a pipe kit from summit and throw some new mufflers in there. the car needs a few odds and ends, the ignition wires are finicky, and I have to get the 6-pack tuned right . Somebody also butchered up the firewall trying to install an ac system.the hood is also bent up in the passenger side corner because somebody that didnt know what they're doing adjusted it wrong. So I've got a little bit of fixing to do. The original color is B5 blue, which is awesome! I'm going to try to return the car to looking more original.

The car has the matching fender tag and everything, btw how do I know if the car had the trail stripe originally?

Anyways heres the pics! If you guys have any tip/suggestions/comments let me know!

M21 man , that is a wicked cool car even if it aint a Camaro at least you are buying American and not falling for that ricer crap.
btw what else do you have in that garage that I see.
But please dont assume you are Mopar crazy yet cuz one day you will wake up in a cold sweat and wonder what you've done. :D

That looks like a 70 Dodge Coronet. A friend I used to know bought 69 Blue Plain Jane 2 Dr Sedan Hemi Coronet, bench seats, no rug, Mechanical Tappets - What a Beast - but he was not very mechanical gifted and could never keep the tappets adjusted so the car just sat around. I ran a 72 340 MAG Challenger RS with the "W2" Sportsman Engine, New Process 4 Spd and 3.90 Gears. It had the Plastic Pistol Grip but I never really liked it compared to to Hurst "T" handle. That stupid Challenger rusted out within 2 years but I put a 100,000 miles on her with in that time with several Coast to Coast tours, job related, but I ran 2.72's for that. I sold the Pistol Grip assembly (which was all I had left of it - LOL) 2 years ago for around $500 to a guy rebuilding and AAR Cuda. The Coronet is one of my all time favorites. Nice to see one again.

Cool cars! For some odd reason the '70 Superbee's front end reminds me of the Hanson brothers from Slapshot lol.

What is a trail stripe and how should we know? This is a Camaro site.:D

Cool car. A firend of mine used to have a GTX 440 six pack/ 4 speed back in 1972. Delete option everything. It was a black car in Fresno. What a crazy car it was.

By the way. Is that your orange Roadrunner in the background?

The Trail stripe was a Road Runner item not a Dodge option.
The Coronet line could have a 'C' stripe on the side or the more common 'Bumble Bee' tail stripe.
There were also more subtle pinstripes available.
Any stripe on the car from the factory would be found as a code on the fender tag that denotes major options on a Mopar. The stripe code will consist of three digits on a 1970 model year car. It should begin with a 'V' V6X for example is a black side stripe. the 6 would denote a side stripe and X denotes black.
If you want to post or send me the complete fender tag tag codes I would be happy to decode it for you.
