Have a guy that has a 12 bolt rear end out of a 67 Camaro complete with leaf springs, brake lines etc. It's a non-posi but he only wants $125 for the whole setup. Looks like it has mono perches. I know you could order some crazy things in '67. Is this one of them? Wouldn't I be nuts to not snag it for the $125?????? Seems like the housing alone is worth well that regardless of posi or gears. Up here you just can't find 12 bolts period. Thanks for any info!!!

It doesn't matter about it's origin, it's a great deal, buy it.

The guy is at work and I just called him again to tell him that I would swing by his work and pay him sight unseen. Hope he bites!!! (had to leave a message). I know he will be getting more calls. Glad I work from home and can leave at a minutes notice!!! Only reason he is selling it is because he is going Corvette IRS....must be DEEP pockets like many of you!!!!! lol

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I figured I could ask here... What about a 69 Chevy truck 12 bolt? Will it fit? I read they could be either 60" or 61". Camaro being 60". Asking $150 for it. Just need to change the axles... hopefully!
Thanks.

Check the casting number on the center section first. It probably is a 67 Camaro 12 bolt if the guy knows what he is talking about. Casting number on center section should be 3894860

Excellent price if it is what he says it is.

But if you only knew how many times I have had guys say they have a 12 bolt out of a Camaro and it ends up being from a truck...

I'm just trying to get the guy to call me back. This is the problem with cell phones.......just because mine is ALWAYS attached to my head, I assume everyone else's is. I should be good to go but I get more nervous as the hours tic away. It is Flake's list after all!!

My 67 6cyl/PG car came from the factory with a 12 bolt. This has been discussed over at the CRG site. Seems that when less common gear ratios were specified they sometimes installed 12 bolts simply because that's what was available. Mine had 2.73 gears, posi, no traction bar. Not complaining. It was basically free since it came with the car & now it's got 3.55 gears and Wilwood disc brakes. Do you have it yet ? I'd be waiting in the guys driveway with cash in my hand when he gets home from work..

You haven't bought this yet!? Where does this guy live? I'll buy it:)....That is a sweet deal. That rearend like it sits is worth more than 10X's that price. Snag it quick before someone else does. Never hesitate on a deal like that again. Hesitation usually means someone else comes in and gets it out from under you.

All my Dad's SBC CDN Poncho's came with a 12 Bolt Posi dating back to a 62 327 Laurentian because he ordered the option - Simply because we live in the Great White North where Snow is Abundant. I learned to love the 12 Bolt Posi for an entirely different reason then Drag Racing - But got the hang of it

I posted it in the above post. It's QL 0120 G which is 3.31 open rear. At least it has "some" gears. Those are good BBC gears.

About 2 years ago I snagged a 67 4.11 posi off cragslist for $300. Gears were not correct but it was a posi code. She flew off the shelf for $1,200 plus another $200 in shipping. Need to think this one out. Never fails that I find this one just after I build a 9" for my car.

Great score! I lucked up myself and found a friend of a friend that had a 68 12 bolt in his fathers back yard to put into my 55 chevy. It was a factory 3.31 gear non posi rear had a spun bearing in it so I talked him down to $100 and walked away with it. I felt guilty doing it so I bought drinks that nite haha.

Just an update: Yes it was a great score but didn't even turn out to have the original 3.31s. It wound up having 2.76. yuk! Since I just put a ferd 9" in my car, this was just for flipping to get a little more cash for the project. Had a guy drive 7 hrs to pick up the rear end for $800 cash. Not too bad. Although I could have maybe got a little more on ebay, I wasn't about to build another pallet and go through the freight shipping again. That was a pain with the last one I sold. I'll take the $675 profit for doing absolutely nothing.
