Did Chevrolet put 12 bolt rear-ends in '78 Z-28's? I've been told no, but I know someone who claims yes, and has one for sale. If so, will it fit in my '69 Camaro? Thanks, Kevin

NO, Chevrolet did not install a 12 bolt in Camaros built after 1970. The 1970 model year was the only 2nd gen (1970 -1981) to see a 12 bolt. This can be confirmed here. http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro70.html
A 1970-1981 12 bolt will not fit a 1967-1969 Camaro unless it is modified to fit. (Custom welding & cutting). You are better off buying one that fits a 1967 -1969.
That is correct, the 12 bolt was not used in a Camaro after '70. The 12 bolt was not used in a Nova or Impala after '70, and it was not used in a Chevelle after '72. The 8.5 10 bolt replaced all other Chevy car rear ends starting in '71. The ONLY rear end that was used in ANY '78 Camaro was the 8.5 10 bolt.
