Looks like a small block heater box so BB car is in doubt. Is it a 12bolt rear end? No trim tag info. So without this info I am going to assume the worst. I'd say it's worth about 3k.

 

As far as I know it was a big block car. Here is the trim tag.

 

It could be an early NOR car that didn't have the 4P or 4__ car, but otherwise the 3L is the only thing that tells you it is a RS. The SS part is up for questioning??

 

Too early for a big block, its a 327/210HP (assuming it has a 123477 VIN), power glide transmission equipped RS with a floor console and a fold down rear seat. An 11B car would have a 4P code to indicate it was a SB SS.

Mark C.....I am just curious, and a little new coming to camaro's. I had a question about the early NOR cars concerning the 4P code. Is their any clear clarification as to when they started using the code?

 

Mark meant 12437 at the start of the VIN, indicating a V8 car.

 

Im alittle confused. Are you decoding my tag??? I highly doudt this car was ever yellow. I think the tag starts with a 9 instead of 0 maybe.

This car has had 3 owners including me. Are you all looking at the pictures of this car? I cant find no indication of yellow anywhere on the whole body.

 

Ok...so maybe the car had been media blasted at one time.....Even if the car only had 3 owners...it obviously has a good long history behind her and she has been driven hard...probably been stripped and repainted many times in her life!

how crazy is that lol i guess those black seats arent original either then. The speedometer only reads 12000 miles....I know the original owner he never said nothing about yellow. But sure enough it is. Thanks for your help. About the RS part, what would have made it an RS?

 

Yellow interior is pretty rare.
RS is the hidden headlights and all red tail lights with back up lights under the bumper, plus some other exterior trim items.
The wide "chrome" trim on the door top was part of the 68 RS package and is incorrect for your car
