1968 A-pillar drip rail

I'm working on a 68 for a buddy of mine and he cannot remember if there was sealant between the a-pillar drip rail and the underside of the roof or if there was any sealant in the gap between the a pillar driprail and long section of driprail. There's about 1/4" or less gap between the two sections.

Both sides were sealed by the factory. I know this because I dug it all out from both sides. The underside is a small bead. Not sure what the material was and not sure what to put back.

You should take that drip rail off and prep the underneath of it and the A-pillar. Many do not do so. Strip caulk can be used in between or a non-drying/non-skinning caulk. Then seam sealer in the drip channel as per standard practice.

Thanks for the replies. I'll clean the heck out of it and then seal it with the non skinning stuff. :thumbsup:
