If you are getting ready to spend that kind of money for a car without the original engine and trans you should really take the time to scrutinize the car much closer. If you don't have knowledge of what to look for in a 69 Z28, find somebody that does. Is the rear end correct and date matched to the car? Has the trim tag ever been removed and is it real? Does the car have other signs of a real Z including the dual exhaust hanger on the left side? Does the speedo cable hole exit the firewall in the right place? Does the speedo cable have the correct retaining clips? There are many, many bogus Z28's out there today. Something to look for in any old car is the body original or full of replaced sheet metal? It pays to do your homework. With everything checking out as it should, the car could be worth what he is asking.

A pic of the cowl tag and VIN would help to start with. Nothing in the ad even verifies that its a real Z/28.

I have visited with this owner at length and have some good pics of the rust behind the front and rear tires. I passed but it may be a nice car with around 10k or so put into it. If you can find a body and paint man that would do it for that. I figured on having about 50k in the car and still have a non numbers car.
