As you can see from the pictures, someone has already had their hands on the repairs.
Luckily for us they didn't get to far into the project and it's pretty much like starting from scratch..

One of the first questions i have is this..
How do the aftermarket door skins fit on these cars.
I'm really leaning towards skins as these are fairly beat up, and the inners have rusted through in the corners.
Granted these are repairable, but i just feel skins are the way to go, as long as the fitment of the new skins are workable.

 

Parts are ordered and shall be in next week!

Yeah check into nasty z. I have a 75 as well and it seems some parts for our cars you have to scavenge for

 

Door skins and patch panels have arrived!
Managed time to get the old door skins off today, and patch the door shell corners.

Hopfully get the shell sand blasted and epoxied tomorrow.

 

Good project. Keep the pictures coming of your progress.
I'm sure others here would like to see the progress and learn some tips.

A little bit of progress!

 

I have to also say that i am very impressed with the fitment of the goodmark door skins on this car!

 

Car is getting stripped to bare metal.
Quarter panel patches are cut and ready to weld in, just need to get it blasted and epoxied first.

 

That 1/4 came with a cute option.

 

A very expensive option.. lol..

 

Looks like you're going great on it! Will you fill in the sunroof hole, or keep it? I filled mine in after 35 years, and glad I did. I regret putting it in back in 1975, and it was a real chore to weld it in, and get the top looking good again!

 

Got a lot done on the camaro since i last posted, quarter patches installed, everything was in bare metal and epoxy primed for protection.

Car is on hold for a little while, but hopefully not to long. I'd like to get to the next stage of repairs.

 

Looking good. Its coming right along.

 

Did you replace the rusted out trunk drops when you did the new quater panels?
