Nothing comes up in search for GTI seats, so I'm curious what people have done to get a relatively small seat with firmer bolstering into a 1st Gen Camaro. VW GTI seats (and Recaros, which I hear is the OEM supplier to a lot of VW/Audi/Porsche) fit my body type well, and would seem to be the perfect complement to our stock interior (with the exception of a 14" Momo Retro steering wheel, which combined with a 12.7:1 ratio and 35 lb/in revalve by Lee Power Steering has really transformed the driving feel and character of this Hotchkiss-suspended car).

I'd ideally like to get the GTI seats re-covered in vinyl with pattern & grain similar to the standard Camaro interior vinyl. Plan "B" would be Corbeau's RRS seats from Summit for $1K once you include double-pin rails/bracketry.

Thanks for any ideas.

I like my Procar Elite Lumbar seats. Had them recovered in dark blue to match my interior and stitched in a style to honor the style of the OEM seats. Not too big, don't sit too high either.

Interesting idea on the Procars. Looked at some nice TMIs at local Cars & Coffee. Corbeau RRS promises 2.5-ish cushion and has a front pattern similar to 69 Standard interior's horizontal inset (backside's covered in carbon looking vinyl which I'd get reupholstered to match rest of seat).

The TMIs & Procars look good. Thanks for sharing the pics and feedback. I'll post the pics later, but after driving the car around some twisty roads last weekend on Proxes R1Rs with the new steering setup (and Hotchkis springs/dampers, Addco bars), my stock seats were clearly the weakest link in the experience. I put in an order for the Corbeau RRS with double-locking sliders, hoping that they have decent torsional rigidity and similar height to stock. Will plan on re-skinning the seatback with plain black vinyl or a match to factory vinyl texture/color, as I don't like the carbon look for this car. The horizontal pleats in the center may work close enough off the rear seats not to need total reupholstering.
