Will Dart Pro 1 Heads 230 CC with 64CC and 2.08 and 1.60 valves be overkill for a 383 Stroker with Hydralic Flat Tappet 292 Comp Cam. I have 411 gears as well.

For a 383 cid I would use a 195cc - 215cc head for the street and depending on camshaft and compression. I wouldn't buy a set 210cc heads for a 9:1 compression engine with a camshaft duration of 205-215. The 220's and 230's are for all out racing.

Your compression is good, as well as your displacement. Just curious, but why the head swap? If they're 190ccs I'd leave them and invest in a good roller cam. My friend has pro top lines (older aluminum ones) and his blown 383 runs well. The only reason I'd swap them is for a good ported 210cc AFR or similar head, but I think you stand to gain more from a modern roller cam. I have the 286 magnum in a much smaller motor, it sounds and runs well, but the grind is very dated, I think from the mid 80s, for all of the magnum cams. That 383 is going to want lift, and .500" with good heads, you're not using the head to it's full potential.

Had an XR292R in a 406SBC 10.5:1 with 200cc Protoplines Ironlightnings...went a best of 11.30 @ 119. (the heads had a little work done)

Protopline was a good head, then had issues and sold to RHS.

That 230 head will be a little big IMO and there are some better choices out there.
give these guys a call/email and tell them what you have and goals ;)

Well now this changes my opinion on buying heads. If I was you I would a pair of 195cc Profiler Heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, your choice of 64cc, 70cc, and 72cc chambers. Buy them bare for $950 and have your own valves installed since the springs, retainers, and locks come with the cam kit. http://www.profilerperformance.com/racing/cylinderheads/sbc-23-degree. Check them out, these heads are made in USA and are just as good as Brodix, RHS and the others. I would sell the iron Pro TopLine heads to help pay for the roller cam I mention in another thread.

I agree with the above, you would benefit from a good al head in this case. If you can't swig a roller, I would go a different route with the HFT cam, a better grind, and if it were me, I would go with solid. There's not really any downside aside from checking lash, but who doesn't like to tinker on their car every now and then. Bottom end it will idle better, better vacuum over a big hft, and you won't have to worry about lifter pump up when you spin to 6k, and with a 292, you will be spinning to 6k.
