Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster...
I'll get right to the meat of my problem:
I have a 67 Camaro RS with factory air. I recently have begun an engine swap to install a very very built 496. I am using Dart Pro 1 cylinder heads and Hooker super comp headers with 2" primaries. I have found that even using the big block a/c evap box, I can not get everything to clear. The passenger valve cover hits the box (its a bit taller to clear the shaft mount rockers, but even a shorter valve cover would hit), and the number 6 cylinder header primary hits the bottom of the evaporator.
I did find the a/c delete box kit from these guys (http://www.acdelete.com/pages/67-9_F-Body.htm)
so that is an option, but what I would really really like is a redesigned evap box that either uses a shorter evaporator or relocates the original one a bit higher. Both of these would work as solutions for me according to my eyeball engineering measurements. Does anyone at all know of anything that could work here? I guess the last thing I could do is mock it up and glass one myself, but I'd sure just love to hand my money to someone else who has been here and done that.
Any information at all would be most welcome and thanked for,
Thanks,
-Adam
