Does anyone know why they keep selling radios with cassette in the parts stores for 1st gen camaros? Instead, I would think that they could come up with an original style and have a small slit for a CD! I'm looking for an am/fm #986824 but I dont want to sell my house for it! lol any ideas or comments would be great!

Im installing a Pioneer am/fm/cassette with seperate CD player that sends its FM signal thru the antenna wire connection to the radio. I will put the CDplayer in the trunk or under the seat, it has a cassette that holds 6 cds. Not sure where I will mount the am/fm/cassette yet but the CD player has remote to operate it. My mp3 player also works by FM signal to the radio to play mp3s. So now I can run cassettes tapes or cds or am/fm with nice speakers. :) I got all this stuff on ebay for under $100.

My standard am/fm flip face radio has only one speaker in the dash, its horrible but works. This will be a welcome addition with rear speakers for a change.

Maybe because 3/4 of the people who have these cars have a TAPE collection in the hundreds (and some might even have an 8-track collection)

Most of the kits allow for a trunk mounted CD changer.

I had my stock AM radio converted to AM/FM with an MP3 player output by

yeah I have a pretty nice collection of tapes myself but I've been trying to get off the habit for 15yrs. lol.

I really like that idea of conversion to am/fm it sounds good! I see that an original am radio can be had for say $50 on ebay. I was wondering how much it cost you for the conversion if you don't mind telling.

I think it was around $400. Stock looking radio, sounds great, works awesome.

You might find better deals but I looked around and I liked their work and the person what I dealt with.
