OK, just came accross a 67 convertible that appears to be a numbers matching car. Guy says he wants $20K, but I think can be had for $18K or so. cowl tag reads-

11E
ST 67-12667 NOR 44018
732-Z C-4 Paint
2HG6 3SK (the 2 HG6 is hard to make out)

vin on the door was 124677N1442074 (I think, wife wrote it down)

car is white, blue stripe, blue interior, buckets, center console auto, blue vert top, 327 V8 (engine runs well, has headers, aluminum intake, some chrome accessories, holley 4bbl. guy said it has been pulled and rebuilt and cammed)

it has it's flaws, but appears to be rust free (trunk looks to be recently spackled painted and appears and feels solid) paint has minor flaws, but over all the car looks to be a solid driver, not in bad shape at all. owner says it was originally purchased at Carlisle, PA show a few years back and owner passed away, now he has the car from owner's wife.

from what I can tell the numbers all appear to match up. he doesn't have any other paperwork besides title, but perhaps the buildsheet is still in the car?

worth $20K? opinions please, thanks

Sounds fair if its as sound as you are saying. Hard to be 100% w/o a photo but a driving 67 vert is hard to come by for under 20K. Thats a good looking paint trim combo.

Cary -

Welcome to Team Camaro!

The VIN "124" identifies as an original V8 car. I think you have some wrong characters from the trim tag.

Decode for body number: 044018

11E = Built the Fifth week of November.
67-12667 = Custom Interior Convertible.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
732 = Custom Bright Blue Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
C-2 = Lower Color is Ermine White and the Convertible Top Color is Black.

Options:
2H = (C48) Heater delete
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
2S = (U73) Antenna Manual right rear
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3K = (Z21) Deluxe exterior trim

I guessed that the "6" in the 2 field is really an "S", and I am betting that the "H" is an "M" for Powerglide (heater delete in a vert, unless it was sold outside the continental US, doesn't make a lot of sense).

Pay close attention to the condition of the rockers and the floors/welded braces from side to side under the car, in about the position of the front seats. Look at inner and outer rockers, and look at the top side of the outer rocker where it meets the cowl (can be seen at the front of the door opening with the door open; there will be stress cracks here if rockers are rotten). The rockers and bracing carry all the stress on a vert, and I cannot emphasize enough that they should be solid for that price.

You most likely won't be able to confirm the engine matches the car, because it appears to be a 327 car (either 210 or 275 HP), and those engines did not receive partial VIN stamps in 67. If it has an assembly stamp date close to the build date of the car, it is probably original.

99.999999% you won't find a build/brodcast sheet in a Norwood car.

The market is really down, but if it is really solid and only needs minor attention, $20K isn't bad.

Just to point out. If the blue stripe that you refer to is a bumble bee stripe it is not original. Some one probably added it to simulate a pace car.

The bumble bee stripe was an SS only option until march 1967 when it became RPO D91 and was available for all cars. The car you are looking at is not an SS and and to early to have had the stripe originally.

Also the paint code C-4 is correct for white with medium blue top.
