My car appears to lean to the passenger side in the rear. When I jack up car under rear end unit, it leans towards same side, with driver side lifting off ground first.
I installed new mono stock springs and still does this??
The car is about an inch lower in back on pass side??
Is frame shifted or something?

Could be one or more of a few things causing the car to lean: Front subframe mounted incorrectly (skewed), front alignment/ suspension not adjusted properly or worn, rear springs not properly installed, bent frame (front or rear), body damage (twist), or a bent rear end (axle tube).

Was the car level before you replaced the rear springs? How is the condition of your front end components? Did you tighten the shackle and front spring eye bolts with the car on the ground or up in the air?

You can easily rule out the rear suspension as the cause by jacking up the front end of the car under the center point of the crossmember with a piece of angle iron (point up like this: /\ ) on the floor jack. This way you balance the front end and allow the rear suspension total influence on how the car sits. If the car is level at the rear then you have a subframe or front alignment/ parts issue.

If that doesn't change anything I'd loosen the shackle and front spring eye bolts- then jounce the car up and down a few times to make sure nothing is binding back there. Check for level and re-tighten the bolts if the problem is fixed.

Thanks Scott,
I did recheck bolts after install by bouncing car and loosening all rear spring bolts, jacking rear of car off ground, hanging rear axle and then retightening while in the air. Still uneven.

Unfortunately, the car was pretty high before with a heavy duty spring in it,compared to now with stock springs in it, sits much lower and more noticable I guess. One of the rear springs was broke at the front eye, that is why I changed them.
I did not touch front end of car yet, but am planning to rebuild with new springs.

I will try to balance the car from the front-sounds like a great idea to rule out the front end.
I will check out the axle tubes also.
I was thinking of taking car to frame place to weld in frame ties because I am putting a 430HP motor in soon so I could have them check frame alignment.
Scott, did you weld your frames together for your ZZ4 install?
thanks

No, I have not installed frame connectors- yet. I plan to once I get a few other projects on the car completed. Currently I'm in the middle of a floorpan replacement and electrical system rehab among others!

It might be a good idea to have the frame shop check for body/ frame squareness before installing the connectors. Has your car been hit anywhere in the past (signs of previous damage)?
