I suspect my poor mileage is not only my heavy foot now and then 
but I have noticed about a 1/8 to a 1/4 drop on the gas gauge if I stomp on the throttle.
I have notices once and a while a patch of dust just under the gas cap as it was collecting in what would be something wet (gas) I suspect the gas is just running out.
now my gas cap is painted to match the car, but i also notices that i can twist it around and around (might need to bend tabs in tank nozzle to catch and stop the full 360+ rotation) but the question is can a gas cap be rebuilt new rubber to make the seal better or is it time to find a new gas cap and paint it?
