After 10 years of trying to get my uncle to sell me one his camaros, he finally decided to let one go to me. I feel I got an amazing deal but I also know it is gonna cost thousands to get this car road worthy again.
The Camaro LA car:
1968 RS/SS 396/325 Original engine, heads, TH400 and 12 bolt.
No carb and dist. missing many parts but the pistons and crank are still in the block.
No exhaust manifolds
Has pulleys a power steering pump
Missing all factory AC equipment
Power windows and door locks
Factory Cruise control (1 of 327)
-- paint code, does have original green paint with white stripes on nose and doors still.
I dropped the tank to look for a build sheet but it was not there. I was shocked at how clean the underneath of this car is absolutely zero rust underneath.
The body is one of the best original bodies I have seen. Floors and trunk are prestine, One quarter has maybe a 3-4" line of rust and may need a front passenger fender due to some wrinkling in the wheel well area.
This car came from California maybe 15 years ago and has sat in my Uncles garage since. It is missing almost all the interior parts. I have the seats but they are trashed. The console is faded and cracked but its there as well as the factory cruise control equipment.
Unfortunetly, I do not have pics yet as yesterday was a cold and miserable day as we moved it from his shop to my moms house for storage for a while.
I know this car has alot of rare options but the main items are there to verify. I may consider selling for the right price! Might be to much of a project the more I think about it.
I will provide pics at a later date.
I think its worth around $8000 as it sits.
Thanks, Erik
