Hi all, is it possible to change the Rad Support w/out taking off the front clip? I acquired a nicer original one for my car and was just wondering whats involved in replacing it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, you can change it out without removing the front clip. You might need to loosen up some header panel bolts or something to allow for movement to slip it in. You might need to remove your radiator fan to give you some mobility. I don't remember having to disassemble everything to get it in. Also the front subframe bushings must come out. So remember how they were in.

Apply some type of lube to the existing threads you see, this will aid in removal of 40+ year old bolts. Maybe some PB Blaster or penetrating oil.

I don't see how. Is the engine in the car?
Yes, the engine is in the car.....its an intact car....the rad support has always bugged me because the brackets that bolt to the subframe rotted out years ago so, I found a nice clean original rad support and I was hoping I could just swap it out w/ out dissmantling too much.

Lee Yes you can, you will have to take the grill out and radiator, probably the top front valence or nose pc and looosen the front fender bolts. I still have most of my front end off and if you would like some pics let me know I ll go snap pics of what ever you need.
