I have 2 things to ask 1st is bbc with a m20 trans and speedo don't work is it becauseit was a 6 banger with auto or is the gear wroge and second iks radio don't work cd work put new antenna in does it still need a resistor for it

I don't know much about engines, and very little about radios but give us some more detail. What kind of stereo, how is installed, when you say it doesn't work does it not even turn on, dies it turn on but no sound, is there sound but just static, you get my point. I've never had to use a resistor with my stereo so I'm not sure what you've got going on. No promises but give me a little more info and I'll do my best.

Just get used to guys giving you crap. This is a great site, they have helped me sooooo much over the past couple of years. AlwYs remember when asking for help the more detail the better.

Did you let the smoke out of the radio? I have found that once the smoke is out they don't work anymore. The factory is the only way I know to get the smoke in , and it tis a company secrete.

Disconnect the speedo cable at either end.
If trans end, attach drill motor and turn on d/motor and view speedo.
If speedo works, then remove bullet in trans, device the cable screwed onto, and see if gear isn't stripped. Replac if it is, same color and tooth count.
If speedo end, drive car and see if cable turns.
if cable turns, bad speedo or not connected correctly.
If cable doesn't turn, see above.

If aftermarket radio, probbaly is since you said CD works, is battery power - red wire - connected all the time? Yellow wire is turn on power. Battery power needed for memory, clock, and to allow turn on.
Red wire is battery power all the time, no switching.
Yellow wire is switched power, ACC power from the ACC spade on the fuse panel.
