Did some 69's come with just a drivers side mirror and no passenger side mirror? Was the pass mirror part of a style option?

Re: 69 exterior mirror question

I don't know of any template but when you do go to install it, have someone hold it in position while you are setting in the driver seat. On my 68, the mirror has to be turned all of the way in in order to be functional. If it had been mounted any further back, it would have only been good for decoration.

I used a piece of manilla folder and made a template from the driver side then just reversed it for the passenger side.

Re: 69 exterior mirror question

There are several threads here for the searching that show how/where to place the passenger side mirror. I will try to find them.
I think placement was an issue for most who have tried to add a passenger side mirror. If you mount it in the exact same area as the driver side it becomes almost unusable due to the angle of the mirror.
Some have found they could mount a few inches closer to the fender to offset this issue.

I also recall in one of those threads someone mentioning they found a mirror that can be mounted in the same location as driver side but is more convex to allow for wider view.

I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: Here is the mirror they used to correct the placement issue....http://www.trophymustang.com/19689-camaro-mirror-wconvex-p-447.html
and the link from the thread....http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=150240&highlight=pass+side+mirror

I installed my passenger side mirror (w/convex) that I got from a Mustang parts dealer. (I know ). It was an exact match as the driver side, so much so that I'm going to replace the pitted out driver side now.

It was an easy install, measured and drilled two small holes and tightened up two screws for the bracket and one screw for the mirror. Snug as a bug and mirrors stay positioned.

I posted a link earlier to Trophy Mustang, I think they are on backorder there, but I found the same mirrors at Stang-a-holic.
