That's why you need one of each! It's too hard to pick one over the other. But I think the question is a little unfair since you added the RS to the Z28 but not to the L78.
There is a beautiful 69 L78 on www.carsonline.com or in Hemmings, I don;t remember which. I will have to locate it again. It's in Virginia. Car has been judged and certified by Jerry according to the owner. It is black with parchment interior. Price is 85K.:beers:
Strictly based on number (4,889 L78's vs 20,302 Z/28's) the L78 is the more rare vehicle. I think without adding Jl8 brakes and cross-rams to the Z the L78 is worth more and more collectible. Again that's same overall quality and documentation...
As a guy that has been into Camaro's for a long time, the 69 Z28 has typically been more desirable than the L78 and brought more money. I don't know why but that is how it has been.
That is true. But as a guy who would desire an L78 over a Z any day of the week im still puzzled. Especially in todays world where just about every 69 Camaro is badged as a Z.
It depends on the person... There are guys who appreciate a high performance, high-winding engine in a high performing car... and then there are the big block guys..
I guess because I have two big block cars, I appreciae the Z for what it is regardless of which one is rarer. Quite frankly the Z with the 30 30 cam sounds meaner then either big block as cubic inches tend to eat up a cam and you really don't hear it as much.
I think that is true about the stripes, every one wants "Z" stripes on there car. I have seen them on every thing. I believe that is why so many people know the name Z28. IMO
To me, the Z is over rated and beaten to death. As a "big block guy", I would walk right past a nice Z to get an average L78 any day.....especially if it was a 67.
