Hello all, I’m the proud new owner of a 69. When I got the car, the vacuum tank had been removed and I’m having difficulty bolting it back in. The tank is from the car but when I line up the three “feet” with the inner fender, it sits on a 30-40 degree angle downward. Doesn’t look right. Anybody have a pic of it installed correctly? I makes me think the inner fender was replaced and the bolt holes are in the wrong locations.

It might be correct at that tilted angle, as my 68 also sits at an angle, but not sure if it's 30-40 degrees. Included a pic of mine.

From what I know, the 68 and 69 vacuum tanks look very similar, but are quite different. It might be possible that either the inner fender or the tank are a 68 version. Hopefully you can see the pic I dropped here, but if not, just go to the SS396 site, and filter it down to: Home>Camaro>Rally Sport>RS Vacuum Components.

At least this should let you know if you have the right tank.

Sorry, I don't have the ability to attach my picture, bc it exceeds the attachment storage that I am allotted.
PM me if you want me to send you the pic another way.

Awesome. Thank you for the help! Yes it’s the correct tank for the 69. Thank you for the pics and putting my mind at ease. I had to gently tweak the “feet” to fit back into the proper position. I’m sure the tank was sitting around for 20 years and got some storage bumps along the way. This car hadn’t moved since 1998. Thanks again guys, I came to the right place. Tank fits great.
