Does about know if anyone makes a topper cover for a 78 series
Battery? Top mounts. I have the R89 cover at the moment and was gone to modify it as needed. But, the top post are too close to were the fake fill caps are located on the battery and would look dumb. Is there another company making these covers?

So you have side AND top posts on your 78 series battery ?.

If it's like above and the top terminals are molded in, you "might" be able to cut them off flush or if it's setup with bolt-on type of top posts like I've seen on some, those could just be unbolted and removed.

If the top is not real flat to give solid support to the topper cover, then maybe fab out some plastic spacer strips and glue them to the underside of the cover.

I know when I put a fake cover on my 68 Chevy II Nova with the top posts, I had the cover in hand and THEN shopped for and bought the battery that fit the best under it. I then only had to do minor top post hole fitting to get a real nice fit.

I thought a 68 Camaro came with an R59? You can get a nice AGM battery labeled R59 with the Delco brand and eye etc and not have to deal with a topper if you want it to look original. I use that in my pace car and have had about a 10 year life out if it before replacing with the same style battery.

I took apart one of the reproduction batteries and turned out to have an Odyssey battery inside:

This one had the caps that came off and luckily no one ever filled them with water or acid thinking it might be like an original one. That might have had bad results.
