Aftermarket rims and front end vibration

Looking for some help...

Has anyone put on aftermarket rally rims and then had a vibration in the front end?

The stock rims center bore was much smaller than these aftermarket rims-the aftermarket rims are sitting on the lugs not on the center hub of the car, like the stock ones did.

I have read some stuff on web sites touting hub centric rings that solve this problem-these rings essentially fill the gap of the larger bore aftermarket rim and stop the vibration.

Has anyone had this issue ?

I replaced the old rims as some of the rims were bent.

Sometimes you need those rings. But where are the weights? Just on the inside? If they are the kind of rim you don't put weights on the outside, then you can put them in the middle of the rim, as far forward as possible.

The weights are on each side of the rim...they have been speed balanced at two different shops and zeroed out.

Have you heard of this type of problem with aftermarket rims from others?

Yes. You can try those rings, I think they are cheap. I take it your steering wheel shakes at highway speeds?

steering wheel shakes at 45-55mph. do you know who i can buy them from?

You should be able to get them from where you bought your wheels. They will have to order them. Or call the wheel manufacturer.
