Has any bought are look into buying the set of the 67-69 forged aluminum afx spindles made of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum that or in the newest Classic Industries they take C5 or C6 brackes and have a one inch drop to them. You can get stock or tall for $699.00 a set and you have to use at least 17" wheels . I could buy three sets from someone else for that price but do you think they are worth buying.
They are on page 286.

Those correct a bunch of suspension problems and accept C5 brakes and use sealed bearing hubs!! The C5 conversion bracket is worth $150.00 the sealed bearings have to worth at least $100.00 Using C5 rotors and having to replace one is very simple and less expensive than the aftermarket rotors for our cars by about $20.00 each and it all reduced unsprung wieght. Your getting about $300.00 in just upgrades from old tech to latest tech. With all of the positives they are a great product if your loking for the ultimate in performance handling for your camaro. If you have a restored stocker that sees only causual driving and cruising I don't think they are a product your going to need.

I will someday own a set of them. Call Tyler at ATS, he is a great guy and tell you what ever you need to know about the products they sell. He will not try to sell you what you don't need or want but if you want your Camaro to handle he's the man with some stuff to get you there.

I have disc brake spindle(69) on my 67 and I don't have any bump-steer. Now, I don't argue the weight loss point, but I can't remember ever having to correct my steering due to bump-steer. Perhaps I'm lucky. HAHAHA!!!

I am strongly considering the ATS spindles but am concerned about the availability of "affordable" C5 brake systems. I currently have Baer brakes and want to retain the rear setup and "match" the front. I am very happy with them and would like to use Baer on the front as well if I make the switch. The only C5 Baer brakes I come across are the Eradispeed that are in the neighborhood of $3K. I have seen the TC C5 brakes but I don't know anything about them.

Can anyone shed some light on C5 availability, comments about the TC setup, and possible other solutions?

Regards

I got a screamin' deal on new factory C5 calipers, rotors and brackets. Just had to buy pads and lines. They are really good brakes for the $. The T-classics are the same as the factory C5 stuff.

You can find the used calipers and brackets cheap if you look around and that's your thing.

Yup. This is exactly why I was curious what Baer setup the OP is running.

To the OP... You don't need any type of brake kit with the ATS spindles. Stock C5/6 Corvette calipers bolt directly to the ATS spindles. Also, I am really curious as to which Baer setup you are running. If you are running the Alumasport setup with the two piston PBR calipers, I will let you in on a little secret.... THEY ARE C5 calipers. Touring Classics, KORE3, the Baer Alumasport.... ALL OF THOSE ARE USING THE PBR TWIN PISTON CALIPER.

If you are planning on running the Serious street Baer setup, well those are C4 corvette calipers. Also PBR, with slightly smaller pistons. The Touring Classics Hybrid kit uses these also.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but the ONLY Baer systems worth the coin are the ones using their new mono block caliper. All of their other kits are just using off the shelf PBR Calipers with their logo emblazoned on the face.

Lastly, if I were a first gen owner, you can guarantee that I would have a set of AFX spindles. Beautiful pieces. And the benefits provided are unparalleled.

I believe I have the Track series for the factory disk spindle. They've been on a little while. I have been lurking around a bit trying to determine the best course of action for an upgrade to the Camaro's handling.

Quite a bit of additional reading has led me to the understanding that, as stated, the ATS spindles are the way to go along with a C5 brake upgrade. I really like the Kore3 products (from what I can tell so far) so I will probably ditch the Baer brakes and look elsewhere.

Thanks all...

Tyler, I am not doubting you or anyone when they say they have an issue with bumpsteer, but I have never experienced it and we have some pretty bad roads in Baltimore. Both the county and the city. The way it's made to sound is it's so bad that the wheel gets ripped out of your hands. My car drives straight, on the highway and on the bumpy city streets. I have hit some 2 foot deep potholes and nothing. Some guys may have it, but I can't attest to it because I have NEVER experienced ANY problems.
