Gaps will always vary dependent on what was fixed, replaced and/or adjusted during the time the parts were removed ...
I like to shoot for something close to @1/8" with 3/16" being the largest I'll usually go with.
Do a search of the Body Shop Forum using a word like 'Gap' and you'll find literally 100's of past posts discussing this topic.
