I just purchased 4 shakers the car is complete, rears obviosly not a prob with install but was wondering if anyone has a picture where fronts mount and any tips on what needs to be done to get them in position. i.e. remove inner fenders etc.

Thanks Bill

I put mine in with the car put together pretty much, nothing magor needed to come out. I don't remember is I slid them in from the side, of from the front, with the grille and headlight brackets off.

If you look at the rad support section of the ""what it is where it is" sticky in electrical, some of the pics might show the shakers.

They can be put in with fenders intact, but it can be a chore. Darn things may fall on the fingers and they ain't light! Just patience and a good punch to align up the holes is a good thing to have. There might even be one hole that just won't set up right.

Do you already know which is driver and passenger side, and front and rear? How assembled is the car you're installing them on, and does it have original or repro front inner fenders?

They are not real hard to install. The front pair have one leg longer than the other, and have the two brackets coming out perpendicular to the can. The longer leg bolts out to one of the lower fender extension bolts, and the other leg is behind the can, so if you don't know which is driver and which is passenger, that's the way to orient them (usually the passenger side is easy to tell; it's the one with the legs half eaten by battery acid). If you have repro/new inner fenders, you'll have to drill the hole for the back leg. They also have a big washer on the underside of that back leg (can't find a pic, but I can take one if you need one).

Rears are even easier than the fronts.

Just watch if installing them with the fenders intact, they can move on you as you are puttting in the holding bolts...this was the main prob that I had, as some of the holes didn't match up, and it's difficult to line up...plus you have the weight of them to work with.

Wow, exactly what I was looking for...pics of the shakers in the front. My vert has the rears but I don't think I have the front ones and needed a pic so I could see exactly where the heck they are (you don't ever get to see them in pics).

So if my car is missing the fronts is it best to buy a set of 4 or can I pick up two of them?

Don't buy the backs if you don't need them. They are too expensive for that, unless you HAVE to buy a set of four to get what you need. Then just re-sell the backs.

My car has the front sheetmetal back on it now, but if there are any additional pics of the fronts you need, let me know and I will see what I can do. :)
