Hello Gang,
I just bought a set of original 14X6 rally wheels. I put them on on my 68 and they looked lost under the wells. After seeing these I have decided to buy a set from summit. My question is does anybody have any pictures of a 67 or 68 with 14x7s all around and someone else have one with 14x8s all around? Also what backspacing are they? I have not bought the tires or the wheels yet so I can go with anything. I want to fill the wheelwell but not have them sticking out the sides like a 4x4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Jim

I wasn't aware that 1st gens came with 14 inch rims. That would look a little small in those wheel wells. Especially on a 67 or 68. I would upgrade to some 15's with 60 profile rubber. I think you'll like that look a lot better.

Thanx for the replies. Ramjam do you know what back spacing you have? That is the look I am going for. I was going to go with 7s all around but I think I'll go with the eights in the back after seeing yours. By any chance do you have a picture of the back of the car?
Thanx Again,
Jim

First off I didn't get the meas. for you yet Jim but I will tomorrow (Sunday) for sure.

Yes, CF they are 68 derb's. I'll get the right ones for it sometime. But I do like the derb's on it. Here's a pic with police caps.

Ok guys' Here you go.

Jim, The rear wheel offset looks to be around 4.25 and 4.5 the back shield of the drum brakes is just about flush with back of rim, a little shy. I meas. them while still on the car it's just too cold today in my area to pull the wheel even in my garage. I forgot to get the tire sizes, probably tomorrow, check back.

CF, Yes, I like the p/caps too, I am looking for the 67 rally caps. I picked up all 4 derb's on ebay for less than $50 w/ shipping a little paint, time and Voila! The height meas. you wanted are Rear - 29.5 center of wheel from ground to bottom of wheel well and Front - 26.63. Any other questions feel free to ask. RamJam

Just about dead even with yours. The only difference is I have 255/60/15's on the back. Bu tthe measurements are dead on. I am going to have the rear springs de-arched about 1 3/4"'s to get the look I want.

What rear springs do you have in the rear, mono or multi? How about front, stock replacements or aftermarket.

Thanks for taking the time to measure.

Hey CF,

No problem, I have the stock mono's. What do you have? Whatever it is I wouldn't mess with it or you might have the problem most guys have, tires hitting wheel wells.

I have Monroe 90-10's on the front with stock coils. The rear shocks are Hurst/Gabriel dual setting.

Thought maybe you'd like to see my interior. I think the 67 deluxe interior was the best one they made. Although I don't like to brag, I think mine is one of the best ones left out there with alot of options. I think the only things that are not stock in mine are the steer wrap, mats, 8 track tape yeah I know that's rare in itself because it still works, carpet was replaced, 2 Sun gauges under glove comp., shifter & knob. Mine came stock with speed indicator, del. seat belts, Tach, console with all gauges the clock still works sometimes, chrome package.

Let me know what you think. I see you have a cowl ind hood. I want to get the insulation like yours where did you get it and how much trouble is it to put on. If you want the console clock i've seen them on ebay.

Sounds like it's all loaded up and looks good.

Since purchasing the car I have replaced all four springs along with shocks. The shocks are KYB's all around. The front springs are the Moog 6308's and the rear springs are Vette Brakes 3 leaf mono replacements. It rides good and handles OK for a daily driver.

The problem with the clock's on Ebay is everyone wants a mint for them. I am contemplating purchasing an AutoMeter clock to match the new gauges.

I assume you are talking about the hood insulation? Where did you see that in the pictures? Anyway, I HATE the insulation that is in there now. I am looking at purchasing the molded type. The current one just hangs down and looks like crap. It's either that or paint it.

Where in PA are you from? I spent some time up there.

Yes, I saw the hood insulation on your pics. You're right about the prices on ebay for alot of things, not just clocks.

You might want to go to a camaro 3 leaf on the back.

I live around Pottstown about 40 miles out of Philly. E-mail me. Later, Ed
