Anywhere at least an hour outside of ATL shoould be ok. There are plenty of towns that have all you need....I only "need" to go into ATL a few times a year, mostly for sporting events or concerts.

Far too hectic in ATL.

I live in Athens, GA. About an hour east of Atlanta. LOVE IT here!

The University of Georgia is in Athens so that keeps cost of living down a good bit, great schools in border counties, AWESOME atmosphere, great hospitals, food, music scene, etc. One hour to Atlanta, 1 and a half to mountains 4 and a half to the beach.

FAR, FAR less expensive than any metro Atlanta location (by the way you'll find that Metro Atlanta means ANYTHING within 50 miles of Atlanta).


Athnes is a GREAT combination of being big enough to have evertything, but small enough to know a great deal of the people.
