I have the 14" wheels and my current tire size is 215/70r14 and I wanted a little wider tire, so I was thinking of going with a 225/60-14 or 235/60-14.

Anyone running these sizes? Any recommendations?

Andrew, I am running 245/60-15 tires on my 69 at all four corners, and they fit. 235/60 -14 are a smaller tire in both height and width. You should be fine. Do you know what back space you have on your rims?

What year is your car? Stance and fit around the wheel well will be negatively affected with shorter tires although a shorter sidewall will handle better...

You will loose almost an inch in tire height by going to the 235/60 from a 215/70 and the 225/60 is even shorter. A 225/70 would be better and give you about a 1/2" taller tire overall.

215/70-14 8.5” wide, 5.9” sidewall, 25.9 diameter (factory tire size)
225/60-14 8.9” wide, 5.3” sidewall, 24.6 diameter
235/60-14 9.3” wide, 5.6” sidewall, 25.1 diameter <——

What do you mean by negatively effected stance and fit?

I was running 235/60's on my 69 RS/SS on the stock 14x7 wheels, with no issues. Switched to a set of 245/60's with the SS style 14x7 rims, and the fronts rub a little bit if the steering is cut all the way and you hit a bump, but it is just a very minor annoyance for the much better looking stance. Hell, I was running 265/50-15's in 15x7 rally's on my 69 Z/28 years ago, and for the most part they fit OK, with some occasional rubbing in the front on a really big dip in the road or tight turn. But the car looked bad-azz with them on it! :D

60's may be too wide for a 6" wheel. The sidewalls extend beyond the wheel and I have been told by the tire store that is not recommended. I have 225 x 70 on my 14 x 7 and I like the 215's better. I don't care for the larger tire look, but I am an old school guy.

I used to have the 235/60s on my 67 with the 14x7 rallys. They were fine, They rubbed on the inner frame at full lock and the backs rubbed a bit on the inner tub during severe cornering or extreme tilts of the rear end. Mostly non issues. I would still have them today if they didnt dry rot while the car was stored for 20 years.

I used to run 245/60/14 on my 70 SS 350 camaro fit and looked well and its getting dang hard to find anyone making reasonable 14" tires anymore even 15" are HTF :(
