The $180 one worked good for me up until a month ago, then started to grind no matter how I shimmed it, I think it was the 9000 model.

I bought the Msd scratch and dent one for $224 instead of the $325 regular priced one. I could not find anything wrong with it

Interesting comment Dave. At one point I bought a mini from J or S and it did not have the R terminal. They told me it was no longer necessary which I found to be correct but I could not get the starter to bolt up so sent it back. Don't know just would not work. Wrong part or frustration don't know.

For a 1969 Z/28 summit calls out a 9526 which does not fit. I used a 9540 on both my 427BBC and my 302 and if you are running points, there is a little extra wiring.

I bought this one for my SBC, it's working great. One important thing to do is make sure your cranking voltage is 10+ volts at the starter. If not you'll have to go through the starter circuit to find the resistance like I did.
