Just as the message says!

Holley's new main body kit looks impressive / like their HP carbs - checking to see if it will work with the DP 650 I have now?

Is it just overpriced($125) ? whats your experience with Proform($99)

Are they still the leader ?

I am interested in taking this step

I haven't had any expierence with holly's new mainbody but i do have a proform on my 850 which cost $199 (wish it cost the same as the 750) i could not have been happier with it! It took a while to tune but i picked up 4 tenths and 8 Mph!!! went from a 12.3@109 to 11.9@117 which with good traction should be a few more tenths. (60' was a sad 1.81) This may be an extreme case but still great investment in my book.

Maybe someone will tell us about a success story with the holly.

I have the Proform HP950 body & their base plate, from which I peiced together a carb for my 383, it drives and preforms just fine.

Sounds great - luckily I have a 650DP carb - so I can run the cheaper Proform if I go that route

I was reading proforms downloadable instructions - which says my throttle plate bore must be 1 11/16" for all their kit parts to work -

Is it likely that a DP 650 may not have that size throttle plate ?

anyone tried out the new holley bodies yet??

the pro form body will work on 750 dp or 650 dp and is supposed to flow 830 after the change .i liked mine so well i bought another one for my 750 dp.this is the first ive heard of the holly replacement body but i do like the proform .if you are using a 650 dp you will more than likely pick up at least 2 tenths in the 1/8th mile

The holley main body looks indentical to the proform, the only difference I can find is that the holley has slightly larger air bleeds and you can get one with a shiney finish vs the proform normasl dichromate finish. I have the proform mainbody and couldnt be happier, the engine idles better, has better throtlle response and midrange power seemed to increase alot over the old setup.

All 600 to 750 cfm holley DP's use the same throttle plate size, when you install the proform main body on a 600, 650 or 700 cfm carb you are actually turning the carb into a 750 cfm carb. So if your smaller cfm DP is a tad too big for your engine it will be even more with the proform main body. keep that in mind before you make the plunge, esp if you have a 327 or smaller engine.

good point joe!i wonder how many people tried them in the secondaries?
