Below assumes your paint code is 53 53 ..VIN is inline for the build date

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
37 = coupe body
9 = 1969 model year
N = Norwood, OH assembly plant
606XXX = vehicle serial number sequence

Decode for body number: 272937

02D = Built the Fourth week of February.
69-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
715 = Standard Dark Blue Bucket Seats.

That "3" sure looks like a '4' to me in the VIN picture... :p
Or were you just trying to scare him... ;)

So --- 4 = V8 - Mr. 'Victim'... :thumbsup:

hey guys, i do have a question...

my 69 camaro book says the 327's were replaced by the 307's in february. This is when my camaro was built. Also, my camaro had 327 emblems on it when we bought it.

Do could it be a real 327? I mean, i have heard that 327's were really rare, but then they make it like they put 327's in camaros up untill the first few months of 69 (i mean, they started building 69 camaroos in 68, right?)

Because the 327 was discontinued on 1/1/69 in Camaro's. They were replaced by the 307 on that date. Any base V8 Camaro made later than that date came with a 307.

Since the car doesn't appear to have the original engine why do you think it has a 327? Assuming the car isn't an SS there was another small block engine available after 1/1/69. In addition to the 307, the L65 350/255HP engine was available. Don't know if there are any non driveline differences to look for that would help you figure out which engine was originally in the car.

How many fuel lines in the car, one or two? What kind of transmission is in the car?

im pretty sure there is only one fuel line, but i cant verify that one.
It has a turbo 350 tranny in it, but it has a powerglide shifter, so im assuming it came with the powerglide origionally.
