I am trying to hook up a console gauges for a 69 Camaro. The console gauge wiring harness plug will not mate with the conversion harness plug supplied by Ricks First generation. Is the wiring harness on the guage side for a 69 different than the wiring harness for a 68? What I think I need is a 8 prong female plug to mate with my current male
8 prong male? To further muddy the water I bought my gauge set from a swap meet, so I'm not sure if my gauge package wasn't modified or not.
Maybe the best way to ask this guestion is what should the factory plug on the console side look like? 8 pin,12 pin, male or female?

The gauge set you wound up with is a set from a Nova, I believe that harness is set up for 8 pins, IIRC the Camaro's should be 10 or 12. All you need to do is get the console gauge wiring harness from Rick's, etc and put it on the gauges, and plug em in.

Mark,
I just looked at mine, which I believe is stock, and it has a 12 prong plug with only 9 being used. It's a 69 SS350 coupe. The plugs (both sides-dash side and console side) are weird.
They both have "male" type pins which must engage in a side to side type fashion. (no bad jokes, please). Hope this helps.
John
