my 69 Camaro has a Eldebrock 383 stroker that I bought from blueprint motors as a crate motor with about 100 miles on it. It has been at the body shop for the last six months and hasn't been driven all that much. One big mistake I made is I filled it up six months ago , about a month ago it was at half a tank and i filled it up again, then last Tuesday I filled it up from half a tank again. Most of this was done because the fuel gauge wasn't working yet and I was nervous about running out of gas while driving. that evening when I was driving it and I gave it a little gas and it back fired. I also noticed it hesitated just a little bit later on then it died on me once when entering on a main road.
This is a father and son project so I am still learning about engines so I would like your help. My first thought was I need to just empty my tank and put fresh gas in but my Dad disagrees and thinks the spark plugs need to be replaced since they are the plugs that came with the motor and he also thinks the timing may need to be adjusted.
What do you all think?
