The 10A fuse for the gauges is blowing as soon as I turn the ignition over to on/acc. I can't test to see if I'm getting 12V on the + prong of the gauge b/c the fuse blows soon as I turn the ignition over.

The speedo and fuel gauge lamps work fine. I know they're on separate 12V lines, but the individual grounds all feed back a common ground line - so I think the ground is okay.

I started chasing this problem b/c my fuel gauge doesn't work. I'm about 82% sure that it's the gauge end of the wiring that is the problem and not the sending unit, as I replaced the tank and sending unit recently.

Ideas?

Factory gauges? One 12v+ feeding all?

Fuses are fairly cheap. You could disconnect the pos to one gauge at a time until you find the culprit. You have a short to ground somewhere - could be the common feed to all gauges.
Yeah, factory gauges, with the single pink 12V feeding all.... I pieced the wiring harness back together, salvaging it from the AutoMeter set up PO had installed... The "BRIGHT" light indicator flickers on and off occasionally and when it does the rest of the carrier lights go off... The "GEN" light stays on constantly... I probably should have bit the bullet and invested in a new fuseblock/front wiring harness.

Thanks, Al. I'll start disconnecting lines and testing one at a time.
