I am having a huge headache with this car.
The previous owner did everything wrong/cheaply and its really starting to get on my nerves..
So anyways, I went to start my car today and I got nothing.
One click, of the starter engaging but not spinning.
I swapped the starter for another old one I had laying around and same thing.
Could it be a wire?

It started fine like 10 times yesterday, but nothing today.. I dont get it.
Its not the battery dead because its not a series of clicks, just one..

A friend and I were trying to figure out what a couple purple wires in the console were. Car would not start unless they were connected. Ends up someone had hacked out the neutral safety switch. Sounds like it might be something for you to look into. We found these references useful : http://www.gvtc.com/~rlaa/

Having 1/0 battery cables with clean connections on both ends helps. No bolt-on clamps either.

When checking battery condition during cranking, any voltage reading across battery posts of lower than 9 volts and battery is suspect or charging voltage to low, i.e., 14 volts nominal.

As suggested, check neutral safety switch if auto trans, or clutch safety switch if manual trans.
