I just installed a 350 into a Mecedes . I had to do some wiring because this was a flood car. I cant find a wire on the fuse panel that gets hot when I turn the ignition switch on. So i installed my own ignition switch , ran a wire to the switch from the battery or starter;some hot wire. Then I ran the hot wire to the HEI. It works fine , starts up etc. but the wire is hot to touch. So I put one of those white resis tors or what ever you call it in between the hot and HEI.The wire is cooler now but I dont know if this is going to hold up in the long run.Will it or what should I do. The piece Im talking about is like the one that goes on a points car,distributor.
