Just got my report on my early build 67 Camaro with VIN 100747. It was made on Aug/18/1966 and delivered to dealer 323 in zone 8. The dealer was
Jones Motor Company in Bremen Georgia. So the car did not go to far to end up with me here in Alabama. So now what can we do with this info? I tried a search on the dealer with no hits. Just got an obit from the son of Mr. Jones...

I paid the money...car sold from a long gone Chevrolet dealer in Roswell New Mexico. No rust car so makes sense it has always been in the desert SW.

To follow up; the dealer that took delivery of my car was also a Buick dealership. Since my dealer was out of business I contacted the dealer that bought the Buick franchise. He had a salesman there that personally new the old dealer's family. He told me that all the old Ranere Buick/Chevrolet paperwork was trashed!
Pretty much end of story.

This is now Jimmy Johnson (yes of NASCAR fame) Chevrolet in El Cajon. Prior to that it was Bob Baker Chevrolet for many years. I purchased many NOS parts from there in the 80's and 90's so if you do make phone call ask for the parts department. I can't remember the guys name but he had worked there for ever. This place had tons of NOS parts stored.....never know about the docs???

I know this post was from last summer but wanted to straighten it out. I too have a car that came from Hatch Chevrolet in El Cajon Ca. It became Grihalva Chevrolet in 1972 and in 1988 became Bob Baker Chevrolet. Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet is in Kearny Mesa (San Diego) and never had anything to do with Hatch Chevrolet.

Ed - Try calling the local library in Perryton. They may still have to old style street registry's that cross referenced address and phone information before the age of computers. They may also have news print and other media archives of the dealership.

Don't have in my data base, best I can do is tell you the dealer is from CA which you already know and name should begin with an "H"

Got the report for my 67, I bought the car used in 1975 in Memphis, TN and was hoping it was a local dealer, there are a couple here that are old enough to have sold the car new.

According the report the car was bought in Forrest City, Arkansas which isn't far away but unfortunately the dealership is long gone.

Not really much info, but confirms the build date anyway.

If anyone happens to know anything about Forrest City Motor Company (what a generic name) please let me know.

Love the idea of exposing any fake data on cars. It’s questionable enough whether to share Trim Plates on Performance Cars. These silent individuals desecrate American Muscle Cars which further undermines the Gear heads that live and breath hunting for these pieces of history. The significance of these cars largely stems from good faith information we all try to pass along. Exciting knowing new information is available.

OP here: I just received an NCRS packet that identifies the name of the dealer as "GM Overseas Distribution Center".


What in the world could this be? Dealer code is 909 and zone is 79.
