Hi Guys, I have been lurking for a while and decided to step up to the plate and make my first post to say hello. I noticed that the convertible forum is one of the least used on this website. Can we do a roll call to get an idea of how many vert lovers we have browsing?

69 plain jane , 327/2 barrel drop top. SS Stripes does not an SS make. Currently on blocks undergoing open heart surgery and cancer removal. We can rebuild her, we have the technology!

Regards to all,

Brian

69 RS/SS LS7 T56, 9", ATS, DSE, GW, Baer (soon to change), Hydroboost, Ricks Hot Rod Shop, Vintage Air, Ring Brothers, Marquiz Design and way to many more to list. FWIW I still have the numbers matching 350, M21 and 12 bolt. Oh yeah North Central Washington State

ETA: Mark just looked at your vert, all I can say is WOW:thumbsup:!!!!!!!!!! Shes beautiful!!!!! I had a silver RS/SS coupe in high school and though long and hard about going silver on my vert but ended up going black.

I run a 68 base vert, SS lookalike with #'s matching 383, tremac tko, cragars, and a bunch of other stuff.

I've had the priviledge of seeing Mark's car in person, as well as riding in it. Pics do not do it justice!

I'll also take the credit for convincing him that ragtops were meant to roll with the top down!

I'll be flying out to sanfran in a couple of weekends to hookup with Mark, Herb, Dano, and a host of others at the Car Crazy show.

69 RS/SS clone (currently) LeMans blue with black hockey stripes, top, and interior. Old Bridge NJ, about 10 minutes from E-Town Raceway park.

Car is currently getting a full blown PT treatment - Wilwoods, G-bar, Moser 12 bolt w. 3.55's Varishocks, DSE SFCs, 496 BBC w. Dart pro1 alum heads, will have a TKO 600, and Morrison subframe.

Kevin, we need to grab a beer sometime. Are you going to "Rev it Up" tomorrow at the track?

Great to see all of you guys step up and give a shout out. I knew you were here, I just was not sure who you were!

Kevin, you mentioned the convertibles might not be running but that is ok. The great thing about the convertibles is that you feel good just sitting in it. Of course, it helps that I hooked up the fan and hung it from the ceiling of my garage so I can still have that wind blowing through my hair feeling!:D

Now that I know you guys are here, I am going to have lots of questions down the road that I hope you don't mind helping with.

Welcome aboard Brian - Keep in mind that the ragtop is still a Camaro and most our questions fit in the other forums... Here's my '69 RS ragtop with SS trim added. It's an orig fiber optic RS that started life Hugger Orange, white top, Deluxe Black interior and 307 powerglide. Today it's got a 383 stroker, 700r4, 12bolt posi and 4wheel disc's amoung many other upgrades...

Welcome, Brian -

My car probably looks a lot like Dennis' car did when it was new. Started as a Hugger Orange 307 PG base model, white top. I added the RS stuff last year. Currently with a warmed over 383, 200-4R and a 3.73 10 bolt posi. Has big brakes, Hotchkis suspension, hydroboost and a few other goodies.

As you can see, we have LOTS of sunburned skull drivers in here.

If you search the convertible archives, you'll find a lot of info on subjects such as tops and mechanisms, cocktail shakers, and vert specific subframe connectors, x- braces, exhaust systems, the ever popular "where did you put some decent speakers."

As Dennis said, most of the rest of the stuff finds wider reading in the other fiorums.

It generally is kinda dead in here in the summer tho, us topdown guys are driving rather than typing!

Welcome!

I have a 69 RS 'hotrod'. M22, 409 sbc, lots of blood, sweat and tears.

My roll call was purely for selfish reasons. Having a convertible up on blocks, this was the best way I could think of to identify all of the members who have been there! The pictures you guys posted are amazing, every one of them and they serve as a source of inspiration but even more so, a great source of ideas for when my car eventually makes it back to the paint shop. The suspension, tire, and wheel combinations gives me great ideas about how I want the stance of my car to appear.

I have spent a lot of time in the archives of this site and the only frustrating thing I have found is that many times the pictures included in the threads are dead links because of the age of the message. So I promise to search the archives before bringing a question to you guys but keep in mind that although you remember answering that question back in 03, it might not still be a live link to the pic you included. So bottom line is I want to say thanks to everyone and I look forward being a part of the Team.

Hey dont feel bad mine is dismantled again, in my never ending quest for change at my rate I only enjoy mine from mid September to mid October:sad:.

Okay, here's mine. I purchased the car in 1998. When I bought it it was a (poorly) restored, 1969, Plane Jane, 327, 4spd Rally Green convertible. That's how it started it's life. Over the past 7 or so years (I drove it in it's orginal form for about a year) I converted it onto a Pro Street, Z11 clone. Not quite done yet, but getting real close.

Here's what it looked like when I bought it. The picture makes the car look better than it was. But it was in pretty good condition:

And here's the most recent pictures I have of it:

John, I copied and bookmarked this webpage that gives instruction on how to post pics. I don't know if I am doing it right since my pic was a small thumbnail until you click on it but here it is never the less. Let's see that 67 vert.

The link is listed in the sig line of one of the members. Forgive me, I forgot who's it is but I remember seeing it in a lot of posts. Sorry, newbie here with all the players names.
